Please don’t apologize for being the best advocate for your child! The crunchy world can be so darn shame-y which is really just a way of trying to assure them (our?) selves that it can’t happen to us if we do everything “right”. Except for that there’s just no guarantee of that because hard things happen to people who do it “right” all the time.

Sounds like you are doing it right in so many ways ❤️

“This is what love requires of me.” ❤️😭 I am exhausted reading this, but also love how you’ve found a slice of humor in being able to finally write about it. Godspeed on your next game of tag. This is holy, holy work. Love you!

I could have written this post myself Katie. I’m with you in solidarity every step of the way…”because this is what love requires of us.” And damn right, do they deserve it.

"This is what love requires of me" is the sound track of my day to day lately. We are getting ready to venture into this level of support for my kiddo, so thankful for this type of mercy in the form of medicine. I've not tried it personally, but a friend with similar medication hurdles has been singing the praises of amazon pharmacy. Thank you for validating the hard stuff, you are not alone!

You are incredible Mama! This is so real, and so beautifully done. Sharing this only on the chance it changes your life (and terrible game of tag) like it did mine: https://www.costplusdrugs.com Doesn’t take insurance but the drugs I was hinting are cheaper on here than they were with insurance at my pharmacy. Depends on what he’s on! Literally they send me an email when it’s time to refill, I press yes, and they MAIL IT to my door 🙌🏼 Sharing only in case it’s helpful, you just toss this comment to the internet void if it’s not.

Thank you for explaining the struggle! I don’t know of this will work for you, but I had trouble getting my sons medication due to it being frequently out of stock locally. I had the doctor send the script to express scripts (I have it as an app on my phone, there are probably a ton of other options). They send a 3 month supply and have never been out of it. If no one’s home when they drop it off I have to go pick it up from the post office. But that’s better than calling/going to multiple pharmacies.

You have captured this struggle well. You are such a a good mama. I relate to this, not as a mom doing this for her kid, but for myself. I am on a medication that only specialty pharmacies can fill, and until I found the pharmacy I currently use, every month was a guessing game about whether or not the pharmacy would fill it in time and whether or not the carrier would deliver it when they said they would. And then of course insurance will randomly decide I need a pre-authorization (a concept I don’t think I will ever understand). And then another of my meds is a controlled substance, so it can only be filled within a certain window of time, and joke’s on me if I try to fill it and it’s out of stock. It shouldn’t be so hard. I can’t wait for heaven.
